J. Carlos Borrego, M.D. is the owner and operator of the Grosse Pointe Athletic Club.

Carlos has been an owner of the Grosse Pointe Athletic Club since 1995, and sole operator since 2006. His prior experience included a successful career as a radiation oncologist with Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak, and business management consultant for a national consulting firm.

A lifelong believer in promoting the benefits of healthy living, Carlos works closely with his staff to ensure that members have access to information on healthy lifestyles that incorporate fitness, nutrition and healthy habits. In addition to his medical degree, Carlos also earned a masters in public health from The University of Michigan. He continues to donate his time and leadership abilities to several community organizations. Carlos is actively involved with Henry Ford Health System, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit, SandCastles Grief Support Program for Children, Leadership Detroit (Detroit Regional Chamber), and Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce.

Carlos is a graduate of Austin Catholic Preparatory, La Salle University, and The University of Michigan. He is a lifelong resident of Grosse Pointe.
